=About The Trilogy=

The Man I Love Trilogy

is a witty, romantic blast from the past. This historical fiction series tells the tale of two lovers set in Post-Prohibition New York City is an elegant tension of love, authoritarianism, and sexual exploits during the Depression.

Each story is chock full of twists and turns, quintessential Manhattan characters, vintage locations, and is infused with laugh-out-loud humor and music of the day. Surprising parallels to current issues make these stories rich, fun, and timely!

This collection of plays could not have been produced in the time of their subject matter. The Wales Act of 1927 and the Hays Film Production code implemented in 1934 impeded interracial and LGBTQIA stories from being produced on stage and in film for nearly forty years. Without this literary and visual context in our universal collective, young generations of the LGBTQIA community and large segments of the general populace have been left believing that the Stonewall Riots of 1969 were a "big bang" giving birth to LGBTQIA Culture. These shows demonstrate that the community has always existed.

=about the creative team=

PHILIP REISSMAN

(co-bookwriter for all 3 plays)

Philip’s play, SHAKESPEARE'S REVENGE, has had two productions in New York City. (The Vital Theatre and the Riant Theatre.)

Several short plays done in New York at the Friars’ Club, the Riant Theatre’s Strawberry Festival, Emerging Artists New Works Festival, Don’t Tell Mama, and The Tuesday Group. Some of these one-acts were produced as short films and have been shown at film festivals worldwide, including Cannes and Newport Beach.

ELWHY JONES

(co-bookwriter for all 3 plays)

Elwhy’s jukebox musical TOM & THE FANATICS, had a workshop production at Amersham & Wycombe, in Buckinghamshire, outside London.

He worked several years with the Center for Lesbian And Gay Studies (CLAGS) organizing an annual conference called Queer CUNY. It was through such experience Elwhy learned the importance of honoring those who came before him and the work they did.

Elwhy is a natural wanderluster. Having been born in Eastern Kentucky, he grew up between there and Columbus, Ohio. He has also lived in Atlanta, Georgia, New York City, and currently resides in Tarrytown, New York, when he's not on a random last minute adventure.
